Gary

CEO

I joined Dean and Cauvin in January 2022. As a Social Worker and Community Educator my background is in direct work with children, young people and families in both local authority and voluntary sectors. I have also managed and led a range of services, both nationally and locally, and I am always looking to create supports that address the full range of issues children, young people and families face – from complex trauma and loss to social isolation, poverty and inequality.

As Deputy CEO I am passionate that the voices, needs and aspirations of our young people are heard and supported, and that Dean and Cauvin embeds the ethos and principles of The Promise as we continue to build on our long tradition of high-quality, relational and rights-based care.

When not at work I like to run, draw and read and get outdoors around Scotland – sometimes on my own but more often than not with my three lovely children!

George

Corporate Services Manager

I joined Dean & Cauvin in 2017. I currently manage our fantastic Administration team and together we support the amazing work the Trust does.

I have worked predominantly in the charity sector for the last 15 years nationally and internationally, at both management and Board level; and have qualified with ACCA.

When not at work, I am often found on a bicycle or running around Arthur's Seat.

Lianne

House & Community Services Manager

Hi! My name is Lianne. I have worked for Dean and Cauvin Young People’s Trust since March 2012.
During this time I have completed SVQ 3 Health and Social Care (Children & Young People), HNC Health and Social Care and have recently graduated from The Open University after studying towards an BSc (Honours) Health and Social Care degree.
I feel very lucky to have the opportunity to work with and support young people in both our residential units who are preparing to transition onto independent living. I enjoy getting to know our young people and building positive relationships with them.
I am not very good at describing myself, therefore one of our young people decided to do it for me. She described me as bubbly , able to have a laugh but serious when I need to be, kind, caring and nice to be around…. So I think I will leave it at that!

Carolyn

Fostering Service Manager / Safeguarding Lead

Hi all, my name is Carolyn and I am currently the Fostering Manager.

I have worked for the Trust for 25 years and have worked in most capacities across the Trust during my time in service. I enjoy my work very much and particularly enjoy building trusting working relationships with young people and their families. I get excited about new developments which have been developed in response to young peoples feedback. I believe we can learn so much from working with young people/parents and this enables me to shape my practice while working with young people/parents.

I enjoy spending time with my family, and my hobbies are cooking, reading and watching movies. Looking forward to working with you.

Debra

Fostering Administrator and Fundraising Officer

Hi. My name is Debra. I have been working as Fostering Administrator at Dean and Cauvin since March 2017. I have enjoyed the challenge of helping set up ROOM4U Fostering and it was a proud moment when we approved our first foster carers. I have worked in fostering and adoption for 13 years and relish the challenges.

I am from Musselburgh in East Lothian but now live in Bonnyrigg with my husband, David, and English Bulldog, Snorri. Snorri keeps me busy and amused with his daily antics. I enjoy arts and crafts, reading, baking, travelling and spending time with my husband and dog.
