Dean & Cauvin Young People’s Trust is one of Edinburgh’s oldest charities, established in 1733 by merchants in the city to rescue children and young people from the streets.
We continue to work to keep young people from living on the streets and focus on working with young people aged 12 – 26 as they make the transition from being looked after and accommodated to living independently in the community.
New Build Update
The Trust has worked in partnership with Port of Leith Housing Association for a long time. It was wonderful that staff from across the Trust and board members were finally able to visit the site of our new build to replace our existing residential home at Portland Street. The new building will be ready in the summer 2023 and we are all really excited for the big move into the new purpose-built building.
Here are some photos of our visit to the site.
We will provide further updates on the progress of the building.
Dean and Cauvin Young People’s Trust #KeepthePromise
All children and young people in our care must grow up feeling loved, safe, and respected. As Scotland’s oldest charity we have been improving the lives of children and young people in the care system since 1733. We are committed to listening to the experiences of children and young people and learning from the findings of the Care Review.
