The article provides a potted history of our ancient organisation from its conception in 1733, to the valued work we continue in supporting young people within the City of Edinburgh. Pamela Kidd CEO of Dean and Cauvin Trust, reflects on the changes that have taken place over the years and the new developments taking place within the organisation to implement the Governments recent amendments to legislation for Young People with the Children and Young People (Scotland) Act 2014.

Young mother sings praises of award-nominated Dean and Cauvin Trust

Kim Kinghorn, from Edinburgh’s Southside, contacted the trust when, at 15, she gave birth to a son and faced losing him if she couldn’t find a place to stay.

The staff and young people at Portland Street have been lucky to have an art therapist working with them as a bank staff member and she, together with the young people and staff created their ‘family tree’.
