Cathy

Manager

I have worked within the Trust for over twenty years although my experience of working in group care pre-dates this. Throughout this time I have gained professional qualifications to support and enhance my role as a residential worker. I currently manage both Cauvin House, where the emphasis is on supporting young parents and their children, and our Portland Street unit.

Residential Worker

Hi my name is Mick, my early years were spent working in textiles and was fortunate to work with some of the world’s top fashion designers. My real passion was ignited following a stint working in my local Children’s Unit. I then went back to study and achieved my HNC Social Care as well as my SVQ 111 Promoting independence.
From here I applied and was successful in gaining a post at Cauvin House where I have been since 2000. I have been fortunate to have worked with lots of YP in my time many of whom now have their own young children. It has been an exciting journey watching Cauvin transform from a house for 4 teenagers to one that now avails itself to mums and babies.
My current interests are football(spectator), spin classes, foreign holidays and spending time with my family, especially my wee granddaughter.

Leslie

Senior Residential Worker

I have worked at Cauvin House since November 2015. Prior to this I worked as a nurse before going on to gain my Community Education Degree and working in other residential settings and community projects. I like working at Cauvin House and being part of a great team, I especially enjoy supporting young parents with their children.

Gemma

Residential Worker

I have worked with my lovely colleagues at Cauvin House since October 2016 and have previous experience of working in a variety of different residential settings. What I particularly like about Cauvin House is the homely, relaxed atmosphere, getting to know the young people and supporting our residents through the journey into parenthood. The feedback I have had from previous residents is that they find there is a good level of independence given when living at Cauvin House and this time prepares you for independent living, which can be a daunting aspect for all new parents.
